Our plane safely landed in London at 9:50 in the morning.

I don’t know if it had yet fully saturated into my brain what’s happening, but I did skip a little. Learning to walk on the left feels wrong, but I hope to be able to seem like a local soon😂.

Paddington Station

The train systems here are baffling to us Americans. I used the LNER app to book our train to Edinburgh but in the meantime we had to go on two other trains before that one and I won’t bore you with the details. It was a sweaty race with going up elevators and down stairs, getting separated, and lots of praying.

I don’t know why but “mind the gap” always made me laugh when it came over the speakers.

While Grant and I were in line to print our last tickets, a dear old man let us go first. We talked books and university for a bit and he said “My Papa was friends with many Americans.” He seemed the sort who would love a pot of tea and a rainy day.

We reunited with our parents only to make it on the train in different carriages. But a dear lady got us together after we had begun to move. I feel as if this is only the beginning of the prayers amid confusion this trip and that’s just okay.

Grant mentioned the landscape looks like the Willamette Valley in Oregon and I agreed; just with older, more enchanting buildings.

As we neared Newcastle, the views got even better. The sheep were chilling out on the cliffs of the very blue sea. Eventually I gave up on taking perfect pictures through the grimy windows, and just stared at the beauty.

We finally arrived at Edinburgh Waverley Station and herded through the throngs of people. I love cities. I love people. But I was tired an a bit overstimulated and didn’t want to see so many😂

A mile & more later we arrived at our Airbnb. As Grant was figuring out the codes, the door open and a lady screamed. I think we scared her good.

Love our medieval Airbnb ❤️

I think Narnia could be found through this wardrobe.

Beginning a trip with good food sets the tone. The end.
