As I was searching for points of historic interest in northern California, I found this covered bridge. The Bridgeport Covered Bridge has the longest clear single span of any surviving wooden covered bridge in the world. I was delighted that it was only 13 miles away when I searched on maps. Then I hit “go” and it said 36 miles and 50 minutes, but I still felt it was worth checking out. Nita so kindly went with me one rainy Sunday afternoon and we thought it was worth it. Enjoy a couple photos of our little expedition : )

I want to keep searching for places like this to go see this summer. I know that there are more spots that are closer and so fun to explore. I hope that you will do a little search soon, and go be a “tourist at home.”
