It’s always on my spring bucket list to go see the wildflowers on table mountain. Some friends and I went last year and we hiked back to the falls.

I really wanted to go at golden hour this time,
but I didn’t decide until a few hours before I needed to leave. So I texted Brenda (she’s always sweet about going with me when I get these ideas) and we left a while later.
We grabbed some Chipotle and headed up the curvy, narrow road to table mountain.

we drove to the little ghost town

then stopped at the trailhead to eat

I didn’t find as many wildflowers as I hoped, but I’m sure there were more further down the trail. We concluded that the sunset was going to be barely visible, so we meandered back down the mountain.
then went walking downtown

I love exploring charming downtown’s. The historic storefronts, brick buildings, and string lights are so idyllic. (The alleys are cool too but admittedly a bit creepy.)
Imagine being a girl in the early 1900’s, walking down these streets with a basket on your arm ✨

we walked down towards the residential area.
There’re some beautiful old houses that I’d love to live in… one day : )

when we passed this gorgeous place (I think it’s a historic building) I saw that that the gate was open.

I was a wee bit nervous about going in, but I thought, “there aren’t any no trespassing signs, what’s the worst that can happen?” So we ventured in. Then I heard a voice. Night was approaching, and I was already on edge, so it was kinda eerie. Turns out a homeless man was camping out behind the house. “ I don’t mean to alarm you but I thought I’d make my presence known.” He offered to take a picture of us and after he did, he disappeared.
We then decided that it was time to head back.
it was a wonderful evening
and I was able to snap some nice photos.
Thanks Brenda for putting up with me and taking my pictures 🫶🏼
I highly recommend exploring locally.
It doesn’t have to be planned, just go and have a good time.
