weekend with Deborah
I wrote in my last post that my friend came to surprise me. Well the time was short but we made the most of it. Thanks again for coming, Deborah 😍

snow!!
Dads, Alvin & Gina and their girls, Deborah, and I drove up the hill to find snow. Much to our delight there was fresh snow and more falling. The happy snow girl turned on in us Californians and we ran, screamed, laughed, and then ate some snow.

cute highland cow
On the way down from seeing snow on the hill, our tire popped. We yeeted down in beautiful bumpy fashion as fast as we could. Then Dad drove into someone’s place (whom he knows) to find an air compressor. It was almost dark, but we could see this highland cow in the pasture and decided to come back with my camera the next morning. When Deborah and I arrived in the morning it was beginning to snow. We were all giggly and girly about this cute cow and the falling snow. But I felt that it would be wise to let the owners know that we were there and ask permission to take photos of their pet. We knocked on the door but no one was home. There was a doorbell camera so we rang it and spoke to them. “You wanna take pictures of our cow??!”
“Yes sir, it’s cute!” Anyway, we obviously snapped a few pictures and it was worth it.

time with family
One week some of my brothers, uncles, and cousins came and volunteered so Michelle and Laurie were here too. We went to Salem one day for a little bit of fun ☺️

coffee shops with Michelle and the girls
Grant and I were in Madras for a few days and on Saturday we visited two yummy coffee places.

Saturday in Salem
Marlene and I spent a fun day in Salem; visiting 2 coffee shops and a bunch of grocery stores (in search of flowers for the banquet).

homeowner’s banquet
A special event to celebrate with the recipients of Christian Aid Ministries’ houses built to replace those lost in a fire; and to honor those who helped make it happen (from long-term recovery personnel to the electrician and the plumber). [credits to my mom for writing this:]

night skiing
Please note: I didn’t ski. I sat in the warm lodge on Valentines Day and enjoyed the company of a good book

more snow!

ladies’ sewing in Madras
Mom and I drove over one early morning after we had completed the cleaning. The roads were snowy the whole way there but we enjoyed the time with friends.

brunch with Hans

full car
After brunch and Dutch Bros with Hans we headed home from Portland. For some reason Dad drove through the airport and Mom was certain that someone was coming to surprise us. Sure enough, Carlon’s and Grant decided to fly instead of driving up for the week. Luggage, coffee, and humans piled into the Yukon for the nearly two hour trip back to Gates. We were able to put a couple suitcases into a truck that was parked in the garage for some others flying in later. But the car was still quite packed. I’m glad we all love each other.
