Hello again! Maybe you wondered why I missed the post last week; or maybe you knew that Laurie and I were traipsing around the big city. I contemplated waking up early and writing a post. But the spirit of the city had already hit me, I’m afraid, for I was not ashamed to skip it.😂

Anyway, here I am today, with a glimpse of our time in New York.

When they say that you take in the sights and sounds of the city, they should add smells, textures and tastes.

People of all backgrounds, styles, and sizes bustle down the streets that are lined with beautiful buildings. The smells of cheap hotdogs, subway exhaust, strong perfumes and fresh coffee rise to greet us. Constant honking horns, blasting sirens, and random music ring through the city. And we feel the sensations of stepping on something sticky or ramming into a person’s shoulder. The flavors of pizza, almond croissants, steaming lattes, and juicy steaks are delectable.

Yes, visiting New York was truly an amazing experience that I will never forget.

Enjoy a few pictures of my favorite things from our trip.

…and much more

People asked if I fell in love with the city. To be honest, I think I did. Or maybe I fell in love with the beautiful parks, tall old buildings, mouthwatering pizza, diverse culture, interesting people, rich history, and have I mentioned almond croissants!

Although I loved it dearly, the country has always been my home. I have taken for granted the starry skies, fields dotted with cows, dirt roads, and peaceful days. That said, I still haven’t taken back the idea of living in a city for a year 😆.

Do I want ever to go back to New York? Yes, I would love to take my family over Christmas or springtime (I’ll see how the convincing goes).

If you have the chance, please go. Eat the pizza and croissants, for me if not any other reason.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post, and I can’t wait to share more about our adventures with you.

You sound like a girl after my own heart!😆 My favorite part about NYC was the people: the radical taxi drivers, the women dressed in loud flashy dresses, the vendors risking life and limb among the traffic, (We saw one woman walking the yellow line in the middle of the not exactly quiet interstate, balancing a tray of mangoes.) and the tourists who, like us, were caught in the energy and delight of everything.
