Whenever I’m bored ( which happens to be rare ) I like to set up a fun little scene to photograph.
The way I go about it is to get whatever I think might look cute together and enjoy playing around with arrangements.
And you don’t have to be a ‘creative’ person to have fun with this. Because I’m definitely just an amateur. The point is to have fun and hopefully end up with cute pictures.
I believe the most essential aspect is lighting. For the style that I like natural lighting is the best. So plan to shoot somewhere with plenty of windows if possible, or maybe even outside.
You don’t need a fancy camera to shoot good pictures. Phones work fine especially if you’re just using the pics for yourself.

Collect anything you think might look nice- you can always remove it.
Rearrange
Obviously it depends on the style and purpose of the photos, but there’s so many different things you could use. Mix and match but keep within a similar genre or it might look a bit jumbled.
Here are some things you might include
- Polaroid photos
- Antique Cameras
- Bible/ books
- Journals
- Plants, for a natural vibe
- String lights
- Blankets, rugs, scarves, sweaters – something with texture
- Flowers- baby’s breath, wildflowers, petals
- Globes
- Maps
- Art supplies
- Shoes
- Decor pieces
- Paintings
- Quotes
- Food
- Clothes
- Lattes
- Sunglasses
- Hats
- Candles
- Buttons
- Watches
And so many more!
Just grab your camera or phone, let your imagination shine, and don’t overthink things. Take a lot of photos and when you’re finished, edit them until they evoke the feeling you wish.
There are endless possible outcomes for beautiful photographs.

I hope you’re inspired to try something like this soon. Just let your creativity flow and get snap happy 📸
until next time,
